Dr. Laurel Gardner was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where her parents encouraged an early love for animals. By the time she was three years old she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian, and by her early teens she knew she wanted to attend Auburn University. Dr. Gardner graduated as a proud member of the Class of 1986. She worked briefly locally with Dr. Len Jones and then Dr. Ralph Womer as an associate and after the birth of her son in 1990 found her niche doing relief work for twenty five years.
Dr. Gardner is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Assoc and served for three years as a board member of the Alabama Environmental Commission. Her professional interests include feline medicine and nutrition, preventive medicine, hospice care, and communicating clearly and effectively with the owners of each animal she sees.
Dr. Gardner met her husband, Mike, owner of GnG Enterprises (a residential site prep company) while in undergraduate school at Auburn and they were married in 1985. Her son, Stan, recently married his wife, Rebekah on the family farm. Her current menagerie consists of horses Toby and Duncan, and her cat The Mighty Hunter Kitty D’Artagnan. She is thrilled to be a part of the Pet Vet Family and can’t wait to contribute her time and gifts to this community through her position here.
